Travaglini represents family history, traditions and a love for the land

Its unique shape was developed and patented by Giancarlo Travaglini in 1958. The one of a kind curve of the bottle naturally fits in the palm of the hand and serves to capture the sediment during decanting. The dark glass prevents the passage of light and affects the quality of the wine.

Our family has been growing and producing wine in Gattinara since the 19th century. 

In 1958, Giancarlo established the eponymous Travaglini winery.

Recognising the untapped potential of the region, Giancarlo introduced innovative practices in the vineyards and cellar.

His passion for Nebbiolo has helped raise the bar for Gattinara, a commitment that has been carried on through the generations.

Cinzia, Massimo, Alessia and Carolina, the fourth and fifth generation, lead the company every day.

Like the generations before us, our efforts make Travaglini one of the most recognisable wines and the leading Gattinara in the world.

Driven by a passion for exceptional Nebbiolo, the Travaglini family has been producing wines of outstanding quality and prestige for five generations. As the first and largest owner of this northern region of Piedmont, Travaglini leads this extraordinary territory worldwide.

The Travaglini family owns 59 hectares of property, mainly dedicated to Nebbiolo.

The vineyards are located in the hills at the foot of Monterosa, an area characterised by alpine winds, rocky soil with porphyry, granite and iron. Our grapes are characterised by a distinctive profile, as well as pleasant acidity and elegant tannins.
